Wow ! Another species !!I was finely able to get a salmon or 5 to the net yesterday.Josh and I joined Kevin in his fine boat to fish for Kings at Duxbury. This is my first time fishing these waters .First fish went to Josh on a red dodger and a FBR with a chovie.Josh also put the next fish in the box.Next up was me My first ocean
salmon to the net ...a short( 1/2 a stinking inch)23 1/2 :(
My rod goes off again and another shaker. I did have a good shot at a keeper but it spit the hook 4 feet behind the boat.SDR. My rod starts bouncing again and Kevin is closest so I tell him to bring it in a 20lber woo hoo well by now I have brought 4 shorts to the boat so I need a keeper and I finely hook another fish and land a keeper :D .Kevins rod stayed silent most of the day except for a rocky he pulled up.Total fish to the net 11 ,10 Salmon 1 rock 5 keepers. Thanks Josh for keeping me interested in going out to the big pond and Kev for another great day on the water .As for pictures Kev has a few my camera went to Davey Jones locker

Till the next one

Salmotrutta and GVF joined me for a salmon trip up the Marin Coast. Dropped in a Rocky Pt with the fleet. We ended up picking up two keepers there then the bite died for us. Moved up to Dux and finished out the day. We ended up getting 5 keepers for 3 and we got 5 shakers. Our biggest keeper was right at 20 lb's on the digital scale the others where 10 lb's, 24 inches, 25 1/2 inches, and 24 1/2 inches. We fished downriggers all day and the best depth was 55 ft. Best lure was a Uv FBR without a flasher. Speed was 2.4 mph. Anchovie was king over herring. For some reason we did better with long set backs 60 ft was best. The weather was great most of the day. A little bumpy going out then nice during the day then the swell built at the end of the day. On the way in we found some nice 10 ft swells around Bonita. A little fun for my 19ft boat. LOL..

Stats- Air Temp- L 51* H 68*, water temp- 59.5*, Water clarity- 3 to 5 ft, Skies- patchy fog, wind- West- 5-8 mph. Hrs fished- 7:58 am till 4:00 pm (dang devil fish) LOL..
