Big Ken and I decided another trip to the salt was in order after the great trip last time. We drove down Thurs. night to try to split up the long drive a little better. We arrived at the ramp around 12:30 and got the boat ready then hit the sack for a couple hours before heading out. We launched at O'dark thirty and made our way slowly out to the numbers. The water was pretty bumpy early but was very fishable. Things were pretty slow for the first hour or so then my rod takes a dip and I feel a good fish. After a great battle we box a 14lbr. After going through a few shakers we decided to check on some new grounds to see if there are some keepers in deeper water. We found lots of bait but no takers so we start heading back to our spot. As soon as we get back in the zone my rod starts pumping again and I box a 9lbr. We kept at it for a couple more hours but it was shaker city. While cleaning the gear the DFG came by to do a check and everything went great. The wind started to pick up and the swells were close together so we called it a day. Fresh salmon for Easter dinner! Doesn't get better than that. Another great trip in the books. Thanks again Ken for hauling the boat. I'm hooked on ocean salmon!
