I have an ole boat like Rich's, but bare and needs work and I also have a 72 Sierra Tri-hull runabout.
I have had troubles this year with it and am finally getting it close to ready. I need one piece and I am back on the water.......the tilt mechanism. It failed on me this year, among other things!!
It is a Volvo Penta set-up and the mechanism is just a worm gear drive. Hopefully I can get one at Shipwrecked, or Precision fairly cheap. It is the bottom half of the assembly.
Shaun

I tinkered around with it today, was even considering pulling it up manually and getting out on the lake, but I was on wii watch....kids. One more touch and a start-up test here at the house and on the water I go!!!

Thanks Rich. When I replaced the exhaust/intake manifold, I purchased it through Precision. They had it, had the correct rubber for the copper lines and I asked about my tilt...I had brought it too. They said $80 for the bottom. I hope they still have it.

Well I got the tilt mechanism, but the exhaust leak still remains. I have tried twice to get it sealed and am now scratching my head. The only thing I can think of is the two long bolts (the rest are studs) may be too old to get it tight enough.
I am having some experts look at it, "friends networking"!!!

Yep, it is taking me a while!!.   I have it all buttoned up, but now the battery is totally dead!! Oh well. It won't hurt to leave it buttoned up nice and dry for a few days. ;)
My impeller was worn a little, more than likely the reason for the gasket to blow out.....that or just age. But good news!! The kicker plate that's been on the boat since I bought it, will finally see a kicker!!! I am very anxious to get it out!!! :ugeek: :ugeek: Maybe Tuesday at Folsom.
