My friend Sam joined me for a troll around the Port. Launched at 7:42 am to fish the incoming tide. Trolled the Basin for a couple hours for no action. A friend passed by and said they got into a early jigging bite in the Barge Canal. We headed that way and once there found eight boat still there and jigging and trowing Fish Traps. We joined them for a while without success. After the boats left I decided to troll through there. First pass nailed a 6.5 lb striper. From then on it was one every pass till 12:16 then it was over. We finished the tide by trolling the upper end of the channel for 0 fish. The end of the day we landed 9 stripers 18 inches to 6.5lbs. Best set up was a 1/2 oz chartruse bucktail and a P-Line chartruse/red predator. Set back was 75 ft. Trolled at 2.5 mph. water temp was 54.3*, Tides-low 7:13 am High- 1:45 pm low at 9:47 pm, clarity 1.5 ft, skies-cloudy, wind-calm, Air Temp 56*. Hrs fished 7:50 am till 1:58 pm.
